Yo Gotti Ordered To Pay $6.6 Million Judgment Against Him
Yo Gotti was in a Winston-Salem courtroom on Monday trying to get a judgment against him dismissed. Last month a judge awarded Michael Terry $2.2 million in damages after Gotti refused to sign off on a verse he did for Terry’s artists, Young Fletcher.
Terry said he paid Gotti $20,000 for the verse and that Gotti tried to lure Young Fletcher away from Terry by offering him $150,000.
Gotti, who didn’t respond to the original lawsuit, was ruled to have engaged in unfair and deceptive trade practices by the judge, and the award was upped to $6.6 million.
Gotti says he never received the paperwork about the lawsuit, however Sgt. J.E. Gilbertson of the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office says he served Gotti at a concert by handing the paperwork to one of his security personnel, however, Gotti’s lawyer argued that proper protocol would’ve been to serve Gotti’s manager. Gotti plans to appeal.
