XXX’s Girlfriend Gives Birth 7 Months After His Passing
It’s a boy for XXXTentacion and the late rapper’s girlfriend, Jenesis Sanchez.
“yume is officially arrived,” Sanchez posted on her Instagram Sunday, adding “I’m crying.”
Yume is short for Gekyume Onfro, born on Saturday, just three days after what would have been his father’s 21st birthday. Sanchez’s pregnancy was revealed last summer, shortly after XXXTentacion, born Jahseh Onfroy, was shot and killed June 18 in Florida.
XXXTentacion’s mother, Cleopatra Bernard, also confirmed the birth in a statement to People magazine, and revealed that her son helped choose the baby’s name.
“Gekyume’s name is derived from a word X created prior to his passing, which means ‘a different state’ or ‘next’ universe of thought,” Bernard says in the statement. “XXXTentacion specifically chose this name for his first born son; his family is honored to fulfill his wish and shower baby Gekyume with love.”
Four men have been charged in connection with XXXTentacion’s death and are awaiting trial.
