Salem, Or. – The West Salem Goodwill Store on  Edgewater Street is closed today following an officer involved shooting Wednesday afternoon. Dale Emanuel with Goodwill says the store won’t reopen until Saturday at the earliest. She says the 24 employees have been told they can work at other Goodwill stores in Salem during the closure. She says ” we’re going to let law enforcement do what they need to do.”

About 60 people were in the store when a man ran inside followed by officers from the Polk County Inter agency Narcotics Team, which was trying to arrest him as part of a drug investigation. A single shot was fired, killing the man. He reportedly had a gun.
