Tornado Hits NE Portland
Portland, Oregon – A tornado touched down in Northeast Portland last night. It happened just before 5:30pm and the path of destruction was about a mile long. Folks are still in clean up mode this morning near Northeast 21st and Going. One neighbor tells News Partner KGW he was pulling up to his home when the storm knocked down a big tree in his neighbor’s yard. Trees and power lines came down all over the neighborhood. The twister’s peak wind speed was 80 miles an hour, it was about 40 yards wide, and was on the ground for about six minutes. There were no reports of injuries. The power went out to about 1,400 customers. Electricity has been restored to most.

NWS confirms EF0 tornado touched down in Portland

After assessment of the tornado damage, we’ve rated the tornado an EF-0 with peak wind gusts of 80 mph.
