The Charge is Murder

Portland, Ore – A woman accused of killing her brother and wounding her aunt and grandmother made her first appearance in court Monday.

She is charged with the murder of 22-year-old Deante Strickland and attempted murder of two other family members.

Tamena Strickland made no public statements and didn’t enter a plea in Multnomah County Circuit Court.

She stood with her hands at her waist for the majority of the brief hearing.

The courtroom was packed with family and friends.
