Sperm Donor Sues OHSU

Portland Ore – An Oregon doctor is suing Oregon Health and Science University for wrongfully using his sperm donation.
Dr. Bryce Cleary donated his sperm in 1989 during his first year as a medical student at OHSU. Cleary said he was solicited by an OHSU fertility clinic staff employee to donate his sperm for research and for women wanting to conceive children.
Cleary said he agreed to donate his sperm after OHSU promised him that his sperm would not be used to conceive more than five children and that none of the women would live anywhere near Oregon or the Pacific Northwest, and that he would remain anonymous.

At least 17 children were conceived from his single donation. Many of them reside locally.
