FX has released the official trailer for the upcoming season of Snowfall.
Season four is all about expansion for Franklin Saint, played by Damson Idris on the series executive-produced by late filmmaker John Singleton.
“Either you join a system and let it destroy you or you fight it,” says Franklin in the trailer, while Public Enemy’s “Bring the Noise” plays in the background.
At the end of season three, Franklin Saint was shot by his childhood sweetheart Melody, played by Reign Edwards — an instinctive act of revenge for Franklin killing her father.
As he recovers this season, his main focus is expanding his California drug empire during the 1980s crack epidemic. “It’s time we grew past L.A,” says Franklin.
After disappearing for awhile, Melody returns, in the midst of Franklin attempting to dismantle a potential gang war. But growth and expansion doesn’t come without competition and those who are ready to take Franklin out the game forever.
Season four will also introduce a new character whose goal seems to be putting “Franklin Saint in prison.” Yet, Franklin’s mother, Cissy, played by Michael Hyatt, is who ends up in the back of a police car in the trailer.
The first three seasons of Snowfall are available now on Hulu, starring Carter Hudson, Angela Lewis, Sergio Peris-Mencheta, Isaiah John, Kevin Carroll, and Amin Joseph, as Franklin’s uncle, Jerome.
Snowfall returns Wednesday, February 24 on FX.
