Schoolboy Q‘s highly-anticipated new album, CrasH Talk, is due to arrive on Friday. But while we wait, the L.A. lyricist has released another cut from the project to tide us over: “CrasH.”

Over the Boi-1da production, Q grapples with the reality of his fame and his past missteps and searches for inner peace.

“Got my daughter that mansion/Gave my mother that million/Sold my soul to my feelings/Can’t go blind about these women,” he rhymes over the dialed-down record, which barely clocks in at three minutes.

Ahead of his new album, the Grammy-nominated lyricist spoke with GQ about the follow-up to 2016’s Blank Face LP. According to Q, he ultimately recorded and scrapped three entire albums prior to CrasH Talk because he believed “they were trash.”

“I’d be in the house smoking weed, just waiting to go to the studio every day,” Q told GQ. “That’s not a good life. That brings on depression.”

CrasH Talk, featuring guest spots from Kid Cudi and Travis Scott, will be available for streaming everywhere Friday.
