Saweetie is readying an official remix to her infectious summer anthem “My Type.”
Tuesday, the Bay Area rapper shared with fans on Instagram that she has tapped the likes of Jhene Aiko and City Girls’ Yung Miami for a boast-worthy posse cut. Due to arrive on Friday, the forthcoming revamped track has been dubbed as the “first” of its kind, which has left many fans to speculate that Saweetie possibly has more “My Type” remixes in store.
The news of the revisited cut arrives just two weeks after the self-proclaimed Icy Girl teased she would be delivering a remix of the song, and fielded suggestions from fans of who she should collaborate with for the record.
“My Type” continues to climb the Billboard Hot 100, as it ascends from number 35 to number 33 after spending seven weeks on the chart. The single accounts for Saweetie’s first entry on the tally and continues a trend, as the 26-year-old becomes the seventh female rap act to reach the Hot 100 in 2019, the highest total of any year this past decade.
