Rihanna Thanks Donald Glover For Including Her In Guava Island
It’s been nearly a week since Donald Glover gifted fans with his new film, Guava Island, co-starring Rihanna — who’s now publicly expressing her gratitude over being included in the project.
Wednesday, Rih took to Instagram to thank Glover for what she described as a “humbling” experience. The movie was shot in Cuba over the span of four weeks, which didn’t allow for the use of phones or social media.
“Wow! The response to #GuavaIsland has been quite overwhelming,” she began her lengthy caption. “So happy you guys felt the beauty in this film!”
Rih continued:
The singer also shared a clip of one of the film’s most memorable moments. In the scene, Glover hilariously serenades Rihanna with an a capella rendition of “Summertime Magic” as they enjoy some downtime on a scenic beach.
Guava Island is now available for streaming on Amazon Prime.
In other Glover-related news, the multi-talent has inked a new partnership with Adidas Originals which will include both footwear and creative projects. In conjunction with the iconic brand, the global star has launched Donald Glover Presents, a new series of short films in which he stars alongside award-winning actress and comedian Mo’Nique.
The films re-imagine three classic Adidas styles: the Nizza, the Continental 80 and the Lacombe.
Glover says in a press release, “With this project, I wanted to encourage people to think about how their stories can be told on their feet.”
