Tee Grizzley is mourning the loss of his aunt, Jobina “JB” Brown, after she was fatally shot in Detroit on Tuesday night, TMZ reports. Brown was also the rapper’s manager.

According to the site, the vehicle both Grizzley and Brown were riding in on the city’s east side was riddled with bullets after a lone gunman opened fire. Authorities have yet to identify the shooting victims but the descriptions match that of the rapper and Brown, The Detroit News has learned.

Per the outlet, Detroit police have confirmed that a black Chrysler 300, occupied by a woman, 41, and two men, ages 25 and 34, briefly stopped at a location on Three Mile Drive. As the driver exited the vehicle, shots rang out from an unknown location. The woman, who was seated in the back of the car, was wounded on her left side. There were no other reported injuries.

Despite being rushed to the hospital, the woman succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead. It still remains unknown if it was a targeted attack, police told The Detroit News on Wednesday. No arrests have been made as the investigation continues.

Grizzley, best known for his breakout hit “First Day Out,” has yet to comment on the matter.
