In an update on Kevin Hart, the comedian and actor suffered three spinal fractures, his Sunday night back surgery included fusing two thoracic sections of his spine and one fracture in the lumbar section.

Doctors say that Hart will make a full recovery, however, the road will be a long one. With injuries like Kevin’s, walking can be difficult and can even result in partial paralysis of the arms or legs.

As Kevin Hart recovers from back surgery following his car crash Sunday in Los Angeles, he’ll reportedly need weeks of physical therapy to get back on his feet.

The 40-year-old comedian will be released from Northridge Hospital by the end of the week, and then will begin extensive rehabilitation, according to TMZ.

As previously reported, the Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle star underwent surgery Sunday night following the crash of his 1970 Plymouth Barracuda at around 12:45 a.m. PT Sunday on Mulholland Highway in L.A.

Hart was a passenger in the car, which the California Highway Patrol said left the road and “rolled over down [an] embankment” when the driver. Jared Black, lost control of the vehicle.

Black is being treated at UCLA Medical Center. A third passenger, Black’s fiancée Rebecca Broxterman, was pulled from the wreckage and did not sustain major injuries.

Hart’s wife, Eniko, told TMZ outside of the hospital that Kevin was doing “great” and is “going to be just fine.”

Incidentally, Hart was set to appear as a guest on the premiere episode of Kelly Clarkson‘s new talk show on September 9, but now his Jumanji co-star Dwyane Johnson has stepped in for him.
