Rapsody has revealed all the details of her upcoming third album, EVE.  It features many famous guest stars, but the biggest legends on the project are the women after whom she named the songs.

EVE is named after The Bible’s first woman, and every song is named after a legendary black female past and present.  Just some of the famous females who are saluted in the song titles include Aaliyah, Whoopi Goldberg, Serena Williams, 19th-century abolitionist Sojourner Truth, Maya Angelou, and Michelle Obama.

The album’s first track “IBTIHAJ,” featuring D’Angelo and GZA, is named after Ibtihaj Muhammad, an Olympic fencer who became the first Muslim-American woman to wear a hijab while competing for the U.S. in the Olympics in 2016.  The song’s video includes appearances from Mary J. Blige and Roxanne Shanté.

Guest stars on the album, the followup to 2017’s Laila’s Wisdom, include Queen Latifah, J Cole, PJ Morton, and Elle Varner.

The Grammy-nominated star will support Common on tour this month.
