“Feel good music with a message” — that’s what Pusha T is calling his new song “Coming Home,” which features vocals from none other than Ms. Lauryn Hill.

In this case, the message of the song — produced by Kanye West and Mike Dean — is tied to a new social justice initiative called the Third Strike Coming Home Campaign.

“This is way more than a song, it’s a movement!” tweets King Push. “We are doing everything in our power to bring home men and women trapped behind the wall due to an outdated 3 strikes drug law.”

“New plan, but it’s a new day/Black people past their due dates/Settin’ the captives free in a new way/I’m coming home, I’m coming home, I’m coming home,” Lauryn sings on the track’s soulful hook.

The rapper, who’s long been involved in social justice and prison reform, is teaming with two lawyers, MiAngel Cody and Brittany K. Barnett, to launch the campaign.  Its purpose is to free people who are now serving life in prison due to the “3 Strikes” drug law.

Pusha kicked off the campaign with a $25,000 donation, and plans to support Barnett and Cody’s efforts to hire more lawyers in order to help free more people and reunite them with their families.  Through their own initiatives, Barnett and Cody have already helped free 40 men and women.

You can find out more about the campaign and donate at thirdstrikecampaign.com/cominghome.

The release of “Coming Home” comes just a day after Pusha dropped the song “Sociopath,” featuring Kash Doll.
