Nipsey Hussle’s Memorial Service

Now all of us will be able to pay our respects to Nipsey Hussle.  BET has announced they’ll broadcast today’s memorial service live, in its entirety and commercial-free.

BET Remembers: Nipsey Hussle will begin at 1:00 p.m. ET on BET and BET Digital, anchored by BET News’ Marc Lamont Hill with help from entertainment journalist Gia Peppers.

“We are deeply saddened by the passing of Nipsey Hussle,” BET said in a statement announcing their coverage.  “Nipsey is part of the BET family and first appeared on the Network in 2009 in a Hip Hop Awards cypher.  We share this loss with his millions of fans around the world.  From his insurmountable talent to his commitment to reaching back to underserved communities, Nipsey’s kind spirit will be sorely missed.”

Hussle’s public memorial will be held at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. According to TMZ, a procession to his final resting place will then follow, running some 25 miles through his native South Central L.A. and passing his Marathon Clothing store, where he was shot and killed March 31.
