Nike Donates $15 Million To COVID-19 Response Efforts

Nike announced Wednesday that they are donating $15 million to COVID-19 response efforts.

Nike co-founder Phil Knight and his wife Penny, President and CEO John Donahoe and wife Eileen, along with the Executive Chairman of the Board Mark Parker and wife Kathy, have personally donated a combined total of $10 million.

“In light of the unprecedented COVID-19 outbreak impacting our teammates, friends and family, we are coming together to support communities where our employees live and work,” Nike wrote in a release.

A majority of the funds will remain in Oregon in an effort to improve statewide care, expand COVID-19 testing and provide the community with the essentials it needs like food and shelter.

Here’s a break down of where some of the funds are going:
$7 million will go to Oregon Health & Science University
$2 million will go to the Oregon Community Recovery Fund
$1 million will go to the Oregon Food Bank

Thank you, Nike. WE appreciate you.
