Missy Elliott can now add an honorary doctorate to her long list of awards.

Boston’s prestigious Berklee College of Music will present the veteran rapper with an honorary Doctor Music degree at its commencement ceremony, scheduled for May 11 at Agganis Arena at Boston University.

The five-time Grammy-winner is being recognized for her achievement and influence in music,” and for her “enduring global impact.”

Elliott is set to be honored alongside Justin Timberlake and Berklee grad Alex Lacamoire, a musician, arranger and conductor who has worked on Broadway shows like Hamilton, Dear Evan Hansen, and In the Heights, winning multiple Tony and Grammy Awards.

In accordance with Berklee tradition, the night before commencement, students will pay tribute to Missy and the other honorees by performing their music at a special concert not open to the public.
