Missing Hiker Found On Mt. St. Helens

Skamania County, Wa. – A hiker missing overnight on Mt. St. Helens has been found by the Skamania County Sheriff’s Office. He’s been identified as Mike Hayman.

Undersheriff Pat Bond says “I can tell you while we were searching for two other hikers, we came upon another group that had reported a member of their party missing as well.”

He says the Sheriff’s Office responds to lost hiker calls on Mt St Helens virtually every weekend. He says hikers should be prepared and have their cellphone, stay with their group and be ready to spend the night there. He says Mt. St. Helens is not a difficult hike but can be challenging for those not familiar with it.
