Milepost 97 Wildfire Grows To 11,000 Acres

Canyonville, Or. – The MP 97 wildfire that started Wednesday night has grown to more than 11,000 acres and is threatening almost 600 homes. It has jumped across I-5, fanned by windy conditions. More than 900 firefighters are on the scene and the fire is just 5% contained.

It is the first major fire of the season and was possibly started by a camp fire.
