Megan Thee Stallion announces release date for ‘Traumazine’

Megan Thee Stallion‘s new album is coming out soon, and by soon, we mean tomorrow. Taking to Instagram Thursday, the Houston rapper announced she’s dropping the project on August 12.

“MY NEW ALBUM TRAUMAZINE IS OUT FRIDAY,” she wrote alongside what appears to be the album’s cover art. A second image, the track list, boasts features from Jhené Aiko, LattoRico NastyFuture and more.

Meg had been teasing Traumazine since informing fans of the album’s completion earlier this month. “So happy abt my album. It’s finished,” she wrote at the time. “It’s honest, it’s me, it’s real” and “it’s for the hotties.”

She also dropped a cinematic trailer, defined the word “traumazine” and noted that the project has her alternating “between feeling mean af and sexy af.”

Ahead of her official announcement, Megan thanked her supporters for standing by her amid her ongoing battle with 1501 Certified Entertainment, which she says has affected the release of her music.

She previously filed a lawsuit against the label for its failure to consider Something for Thee Hotties an album, but the label countersued, arguing it wasn’t an album under the terms of her deal. She owes 1501 two more albums if the judge rules in the label’s favor.

“Y’all know I always have problems with dropping my music under this label, all these games and having to go to court just to put out my art has been so stressful,” Megan tweeted. “Thank you hotties for rocking with me through the bullshit. WE ALMOST OUT LETS STAY FOCUSED AND RUN THIS LAST ONE UP.”

The project is now available for presave.
