Portland, Oregon – Bullets riddle a Southeast Portland neighborhood, sending one person to the hospital. The shooting happened yesterday near 92nd and Powell. Witnesses spotted a white car speeding away from the scene, heading north toward Clinton Street. One man had another person take him to the hospital with serious, but non-life threatening injuries. So far no one has been taken into custody.

GVRT investigators have confirmed there is one shooting victim related to this incident. The victim was dropped off at a local hospital by a private vehicle. The male victim is believed to have serious, but non-life threatening injuries. The investigation is ongoing.

The closure of Southeast 92nd Avenue is likely to stay in place for at least 2 hours.

The Gun Violence Reduction Team is continuing to investigate several incidents of gun violence citywide.

On Thursday, August 1st, 2019, at 4:11 P.M., East Precinct officers responded to a report of shots fired near Southeast 92nd Avenue and Southeast Powell Boulevard in the Powellhurst-Gilbert neighborhood. When officers arrived they located evidence of gunfire.

The Gun Violence Reduction Team (GVRT) responded to conduct an investigation. There is no victim or suspect information that can be released at this time.

Southeast 92nd Avenue is closed between Southeast Powell Boulevard and Southeast Division Street while GVRT collects evidence and interviews witnesses.

If anyone has information about the shooting and has not been contacted by investigators, they are asked to call the non-emergency line at 503-823-3333 and reference case number 19-261559.
