Lil Uzi Vert has delayed his self-imposed “retirement,” at least for now, to launch his “Free Uzi” movement by dropping a new single of the same name.

Thursday, the Philly rapper gifted fans with the high energy record, followed by a gritty accompanying video. In the Qasquiat-directed clip Uzi takes viewers on a psychological trip as he visits a local area bodega.

However, the song does not distract from Uzi’s current label issues at hand. As previously reported, the lyricist is currently entangled in a dispute with Generation Now, particularly those at its helm: DJ Drama and Don Cannon.

As a result, Uzi has reportedly inked a new management deal under the watchful eye of JAY-Z‘s Roc Nation. The “Money Longer” rapper’s first release of 2019 was quickly uploaded to TIDAL after originally dropping on his SoundCloud account, but has since been removed due to a licensing and copyright issues.
