The search continues for the suspect accused of murdering beloved rapper Nipsey Hussle.

In a press conference held Tuesday, LAPD Chief Michel Moore offered new details on the investigation into Hussle’s murder. As previously reported, an “all hands on deck” manhunt is currently underway for Eric Holder, the prime suspect in the case.

According to authorities, Holder confronted Hussle multiple times outside of his Marathon clothing store. Following a tense conversation, Holder left the shopping plaza and returned with an armed weapon, at which point he repeatedly fired off shots at Hussle.

Moore did not elaborate further on the nature of the tense conversation but did add that authorities believe Hussle and Holder knew each other.

“People that were at that scene or have information from people who were at that scene . . . we ask that you call [us] day and night,” Moore said. “We’re not done gathering evidence in this horrific shooting.”

Also at the press conference, Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti spoke highly of Hussle and the “deep” impact he had as a pillar of his community.

“Nipsey Hussle was an artist who touched our city and the lives far beyond the City of Angels, throughout this country and this world,” Garcetti said of the late rapper.

He continued, “[Hussle] was a tireless advocate for the young people of this city and of this world, to lift them up with the possibility of not being imprisoned by where you come from or past mistakes, but the possibility of what comes in the future.”

Garcetti and other community leaders are calling for peace in So-Cal, following what the mayor describes as “a tough few days for Los Angeles.”

“The absolute worst way to payback Nipsey’s loss — somebody we lost to the hands of violence — is more violence,” Garcetti added.
