Khalid is turning tragedy into triumph with the success of his El Paso benefit concert, held in support of the 22 victims who lost their lives in the August mass shooting.

The Free Spirit vocalist announced earlier last month that he would host the community-driven event at the University of Texas in the wake of the shooting.  Monday, Khalid shared on Instagram that the Sunday concert raised $500,000 for the El Paso Community Foundation, which will directly benefit the shooting victims and their families.

SZA, Rae Sremmurd, Lil Yachty, and a few other top-tier acts joined Khalid for the benefit concert.

“I have been rocked to the core by the horrific act of gun violence that came to El Paso, and by the continued acts of senseless violence that our country faces daily,” Khalid shared previously in a statement.  “I want to give back to my community of El Paso, the city of the 915, who has given so much to me. Please come out and let’s heal together through music while raising money to help those who need it.”

You can also donate to the cause directly via TheGreatKhalidFoundation.org or by buying a commemorative shirt via the singer’s online store.
