Tiffany Haddish Still Owes Kevin Hart $300
Kevin Hart has a very creative reason for why he won’t let his good friend and fellow comedian Tiffany Haddish pay him back the 300 dollars he lent her during a rough point in her career when she was homeless and living out of her car.
In a interview with Essence, Hart joked that even though Haddish has tried repeatedly to pay him back, he’s not going to let that happened.
“No!” said Hart. “Because then what would I have to hang over her head? Absolutely nothing. I need something that I can bring up from time to time. So, no!”
Hart laughed, “I’m not going to take the money so every chance that I get, I can go, ‘Hey! You know what’s crazy? You still owe me that $300’…I don’t want the money back.”
Last year, Hart told Jimmy Kimmel Live! that when he gave Haddish the money, he didn’t know she was actually homeless.
“I had $300 and I was like, ‘Here. I don’t know what your situation is, but hopefully this can do something for you in this time because I feel like you’re not telling me something,’” he explained.
Of course, Haddish tried to repay Hart while they were on the set of their comedy Night School, but to no avail.
In Instagram post last July, Hart said he “refused to take the money” from Haddish– and later returned it in her wig cap.
“I love u and I will never take from you,” he wrote.
