Kehlani Came To Tinashe’s Defense Over Online Hate
Kehlani may still be on a high from her baby shower, but that didn’t stop her from coming to the defense of fellow singer Tinashe.
Following her starring role in Rent Live, Tinashe was fiercely criticized online after news of the show’s poor ratings began to circulate. Per Variety, the musical averaged 3.4 million viewers, the lowest ratings ever for a live broadcast musical. However, it was one of the night’s highest-rated programs in key demos.
Despite the fact that Rent Live featuring many other stars, including Vanessa Hudgens and Mario, haters seemed to blame the show’s low ratings on Tinashe.

Kehlani swiftly took to social media to address what she described as “bullying.”
“[I] usually eat my food and stay to myself about s*** but… cut this mean s*** out with Tinashe,” the SweetSexySavage vocalist tweeted.
She continued by lauding Tinashe for her unmatched work ethic.

“Girl works her a** off, is talented as hell and is a f****** sweet heart,” she wrote. “The obsession with bullying artists in the same way on some mass bandwagon s*** is ugly.”
Other singers, including Tiffany Evans, as well as fans, have also offered Tinashe support.
It’s possible that viewers didn’t tune in for Rent Live because they knew it wasn’t going to be 100% live. Prior to the show, news came that one of the stars, Brennin Hunt, and broken his foot, forcing Fox to use pre-taped segments recorded at a dress rehearsal.
