After Kanye West hosted listening events for his new gospel album, Jesus Is King, Friday in Detroit and Saturday in Chicago, “Jesus Is King: A Kanye West Experience” arrived Sunday night at the United Palace Theatre in Manhattan.

“New York City is definitely one of my hometowns,” Kanye told the crowd of 1,000 people, according to Billboard. “I wasn’t fully saved during Coachella. I came to know the truth and joy of Jesus. This album is an expression of the gospel.”

The album did not drop on September 27 which was the original release date, and there is no word on when it will be released.

West played the ten tracks on the album, which features Nicki Minaj, Ty Dolla $ign, Fred Hammond, Clipse, Kenny G, and Ant Clemons.

During the event, Yeezy told the crowd to stand and fill the aisles, leading to fans mobbing the stage. They were told to move to avoid the stage collapsing, leaving room for his daughter North and son Saint to dance to the music as his wife Kim Kardashian taped them from the side of the stage.

In addition to playing the album, Kanye also previewed portions of his Jesus Is King film which will arrive in IMAX theaters worldwide on October 25. The movie was filmed this past summer at one of Kanye’s Sunday Services, which was held in Roden Crater, an art installation by James Turrell in Arizona’s Painted Desert.

As previously reported, on Saturday night, Kanye joined Chance the Rapper onstage for Chance’s Chicago concert, and told the crowd, “We came here tonight to declare that Jesus Christ is King.”  He and Chance also performed “All We Got,” from Chance’s mixtape Coloring Book.
