John Legend Honors His Late Grandmother

John Legend is mourning the loss of his grandmother who he says, “lived a full, blessed life.”
In a tribute to Marjorie Maxine Stephen, who passed days after her 91st birthday, Legend spoke of her unconditional love and how she poured into her family with, “a story to tell and words of encouragement and love.”
Stephen celebrated the success of her offspring, she was John’s date to his first Grammy Awards and she traveled the world with her family.
“We are the family we are, the individuals we are because of the love she poured into us. We are sad to lose her but most of all so appreciative of the full, blessed life she lived. May she Rest In Peace after running a great race,” wrote Legend on social media.
