Jhene Aiko Drops “Triggered (Freestyle)” Remix Featuring 21 Savage & Summer Walker
Jhene Aiko released the remix of her gold-certified track “Triggered (Freestyle)” Wednesday, featuring 21 Savage and Summer Walker. In the track, all three artists reflect on the pain of a past relationship.
The three-time Grammy nominee dropped the original single in May and, as previously reported, she took to Twitter to refute fan speculation that the song was aimed at ex-boyfriend Big Sean.
“‘Triggered’ was a moment. A moment that for me has passed,” Aiko wrote. “It is new to you because you’re just now hearing it, but for me…it’s something I moved on from the moment I expressed it.”
The remix is the second collaboration between Aiko and Summer, who worked together on the song “I’ll Kill You” on Walker’s debut album, Over It, which will be released Friday.
Aiko will also appear in the Netflix competition series Rhythm + Flow, which debuts October 9. It features T.I., Cardi B and Chance the Rapper as judges.
