Rapper Jay-Z says the living conditions in the Parchman Prison in Mississippi are ‘dire’ and he’s filing a lawsuit.

Jay-Z has filed on behalf of 227 inmates with his team of Yo Gotti and Team ROC.

According to Pitchfork, the lawsuit calls out the Department of Corrections Commissioner Nathan Burl Cain for not only alleged subpar living conditions, but also for lack of COVID-19 testing, guidelines for PPE, and social distancing.

The complaint also alleges that the prison has been understaffed and underfunded for decades. In addition, there is constant violence and inadequate healthcare.

The lawsuit also says there’s a presence of black mold, rodents, and human feces in the portable water system.
The court is giving the penitentiary 90 days to address the current conditions.
