Jay-Z Buys Multiple Newspaper Ads Highlighting Black Businesses

Hip-hop billionaire Jay-Z is showing love for black businesses.

Jay-Z and his Roc Nation agency took out multiple full-page ads highlighting black businesses across the country.

The businesses promoted included everything from clothing stores, beauty shops, and gyms, to eateries, auto shops, print shops, waste collection, and flower shops.

The ad stated, This ad has been created to bring attention to Black-owned businesses. Historically, Black people have been murdered for owning, thriving, and being successful. To that, we say never again. Power is in Black voices. Power is in Black actions. Power is in Black wallets. Roc Nation is committed to supporting Black entrepreneurs, their dreams, and companies, We challenge everyone to do the same.

In April, a nationwide study showed that due to the coronavirus, 45% of black businesses are in danger of closing within six months.
