Beyonce Praises Michelle Obama In “Times 100” Essay
As if Beyonce gifting fans with her Netflix Homecoming documentary and new live album weren’t enough to ignite a #BeyHive frenzy on Wednesday, the multi-talent has also written an essay saluting Michelle Obama for Time magazine’s newly released list of the world’s 100 Most Influential People.
In the touching essay, Bey shares her thoughts on the former FLOTUS and praises her for being a “beacon of hope.”
“Loving Michelle Obama wasn’t much of a choice,” she begins. “It was something that came naturally, because of how she carried herself.”
She continues, “Because [Obama] resembled us and was moving in spaces where, as black Americans, we weren’t exactly meant to be, she seemed so powerful.”
