Ice Cube Continues His Bid To Become Media Mogul
Ice Cube is continuing his bid for Fox regional sports networks through his BIG3 Basketball League and hopefully other investors.
Cube’s league is currently on FS1 and Fox, and Cube believes that he could offer different possibilities for programming if he were to purchase the networks. The problem is Disney is looking for $20 billion for the networks.
Ice Cube and Jeff Kwatinetz are interested in Fox RSNs in part to
give real voice to athletes and sports and culture and politics, Kwatinetz says. He says Viacom not looking to invest equity in RSNs but they are programming partners already.— Joe Flint (@JBFlint) January 10, 2019
Cube’s hope is that with the help of investors he can make a bid of $15 billion, and he’s already approached Viacom, they declined but did offer to help with programming.
