Portland, Or. –  A four alarm fire that started in an old driving range in NE Portland and destroyed  five town homes and dozens of cars is still smoldering today. Firefighters remain on the scene off NE Russell and 85th trying to make sure the hot spots don’t rekindle the blaze. It also damaged some businesses.

At the height of the fire, more than 11,000 Pacific Power customers were without electricity. Residents were asked to stay inside because of the smokey conditions. This morning they’re still be advised to do that. The fire cause has not been determined. A  homeless camp is near by. The Portland Fire Bureau wants to hear from you if saw what might have sparked the fire.
