Drake Scores Ninth #1 With ‘Care Package’

There’s no stopping Drake. The Canadian hip-hop singer artist just debuted in the Billboard 200 top spot yet again with his new album, Care Package.

Released August 2nd, Care Package has moved an impressive 109,000 equivalent units, according to Nielsen Music numbers reported by Billboard.  Of those, 16,000 were traditional album sales.

Care Package is one of Drake’s more unique albums, containing many unofficially released tracks that fans previously enjoyed solely on YouTube or Soundcloud.

Drake has landed atop the Billboard 200 nearly every year since 2010, which makes him one of the best-selling artists of all time.  He’s currently tied with Madonna, The Rolling Stones, Eminem, and Garth Brooks for most number ones on the Billboard 200.  If he scores one more, he’ll tie the King of Rock and Roll himself, Elvis Presley.  But he’s still got ten more chart-toppers to go to equal the current champs, The Beatles.
