Da Brat has given her take on the R. Kelly drama.

Speaking to TMZ in Atlanta over the weekend Da Brat said, “That’s a rough one. I do think he needs help. I love him. I grew up with him. He’s kind of like family.”

Brat went on to say, “I think the parents need to take responsibility. Where is your 14-year-old child? Why aren’t you there? There’s something wrong with that.”

It’s to be noted that R. Kelly and Brat went to the same high school and were taught by the same music teacher. She also says she never saw anything out of the ordinary from R. Kelly and won’t be taking part in the “Mute R. Kelly” movement.
