City Sued Again Over Use Of Man’s Body For Medical Training

BELLINGHAM, Wash. (AP) – The brother of a man whose body was used for medical training has filed a lawsuit against a Washington state city.

The Seattle Times reported Wednesday that Robert Fox filed a federal lawsuit against Bellingham over the city fire department using the body of Bradley Ginn Sr. for training.

The California resident’s lawsuit is the fourth filed by a family member of Ginn, who died while Bellingham paramedics transported him from a nursing home to a hospital in July 2018.

The northern Washington city paid $75,000 each to Ginn’s two adult children and faces a $15 million claim by Ginn’s widow.

The lawsuit claims “tortuous interference with a corpse” occurred when 11 fire department employees practiced inserting breathing tubes before the body was transported to a funeral home.
