Cardi B put her Twitter fingers to work on Thursday (June 24) after a user retweeted her 2019 BET Award performance with a caption that read: “Definitely, one of the best performances I’ve ever seen by HER.”

Another user commented on the amount of work female rappers have to put in to be considered as good as their male counterparts, a statement Cardi co-signed.

“Female rappers have to bust their ass on performances, great visuals, hours on make-up, hours on hair, pressure by the public to look perfect, make great music, and yet are the most disrespected,” she wrote. “It’s always they not [sic] good enough, what’s new? It’s boring. Why her not me.”

Cardi had the same conversation during her 2020 interview with Billboard where she discussed having to put out records at a faster pace than males and the mounting pressure that females feel to be perfect.
