Cardi B spoke out on her decision to not perform at the Super Bowl this year, the Bodak Yellow rapper says that football is a part of her husband, Offset’s life. Cardi says that Offset’s kids play football and it was hard for him not to attend the game, but he has to “stand for something.”
“You have to sacrifice that. I got to sacrifice a lot of money to perform. But there’s a man who sacrificed his job for us, so we got to stand behind him,” said Cardi.
Many artists, including Cardi, turned down a chance to perform at the Super Bowl after the NFL’s treatment of Colin Kaepernick. Cardi did appear in a Pepsi Super Bowl commercial and she performed alongside Meek Mill at a Super Bowl party.
