Cardi B reveals what she hated about starring in ‘Hustlers’: “You gotta do the same scene like 20 times”
Cardi B, Chance the Rapper and T.I. appeared Thursday on The Ellen DeGeneres Show to promote their new Netflix series, Rhythm + Flow, and Cardi ranted about what she did not like about starring in Hustlers with Jennifer Lopez.
“I couldn’t believe that I was like on set for like 60 hours, the “I Like It” rapper said. “This is what actors and actresses gotta go through.”
“You gotta wait in the trailer until it’s your turn,” she continued. “You gotta do the same scene like 20 times.”
During the show, Chance the Rapper gave credit to Cardi’s husband, Offset, for convincing him to tie the knot. Chance married Kirsten Corley on March 9, and he recalled that the Migos rapper persuaded him to propose when they attended a party at French Montana’s house following Cardi’s performance at Coachella last year.
“He was like, yo, you need to take care of business,” Chance said, “and I came back home and I proposed like two months later.”
Chance, Cardi and TI are the primary judges on Rhythm + Flow which premieres with the first episodes on October 9. The late Nipsey Hussle is among the many stars appearing in the series. T.I. says he has fond memories of when Hussle taped his episode on January 16.
“That was the same night we went to his Grammy nomination party. Me, him, JAY, and Dave Chappelle, Snoop.” TI remembered. “We had some laughs. It was a great time.”
Following the series premiere on October 9, Rhythm + Flow will continue October 16 with episodes five, six and seven, and concludes with the final three episodes on October 23.
