Cardi B Invited To Speak At A Democratic Reception

As the center of the IA Caucuses, we have been honored to host @TeamPelosi, @CecileRichards, @KamalaHarris, @SenGillibrand, @PramilaJayapal, @Grace4NY, and many powerful women leaders.

It only makes sense to invite @iamcardib to a reception of her choice while she’s here in May.

Cardi B‘s conquered the world of music…could the world of politics be next?

On Wednesday, the Des Moines Register announced that the Iowa Democrats have offered Cardi a speaking opportunity at a “reception of her choice” in May, in between her festival dates.

Initially, the Polk County Democrats casually extended their invitation via Twitter. But they have since made it clear that they’re not joking about their desire to host the “Bodak Yellow” star. 

“We are definitely serious about this,” Polk County Democrats chair Sean Bagniewski told the paper. “She speaks to the new activism in the Democratic Party.”

It appears that Cardi is considering taking the organization up on their offer. On Twitter, she responded to a report about the invitation, asking, “Should I?”

Earlier this month, Cardi denounced the government shutdown in an Instagram video that went viral. Several Democratic senators debated retweeting the video, while fans took quotes from her tirade and turned them into signs they carried at the most recent Women’s March in Washington, D.C.
