Cardi B took to Twitter to defend her blackness. It all started when Jane the Virgin actress Gina Rodriguez recorded herself singing the Fugee’s song Ready or Not, which includes the n-word in the lyrics. When people became upset, she apologized.
Of course, this opened a can of worms for the debate of who can and cannot use the n-word. A lot of Twitter users feel that if Cardi B can use the n-word as a Dominican and Trinidadian, then Rodriguez should be given a pass to use it as well.
Well, after one user accused Cardi B of acting black when it’s convenient, she clapped back and posed the question, How do you act like a black woman?
But the crazy shit is when I did videos like this people used to say are you black “but you speak Spanish so I just started saying I’m carribean cause had to always argue and then people started claiming that I don’t claim my blackness. Its like it’s always a L https://t.co/9zrqrXqYfP
