Cardi B is catching quite a bit of flack, after a video from three years ago, in which she admits to drugging and robbing men as a means of survival, resurfaced.

Sunday night, the Internet erupted into a frenzy after the old clip of Cardi making the controversial revelation began to circulate online.

“N***** must’ve forgot, my n****, the s*** that I did to mother******* survive,” the Invasion of Privacy star said with tears in her eyes.

She continued, “I had to strip. And, I drugged n***** up and I robbed them. That’s what I used to do. Nothing was mother******* handed to me, my n****. Nothing!”

As the video went viral, a few Twitter users suggested that as a result of her admission, Cardi should be viewed in the same negative light as Bill Cosby and R. Kelly.

But on Tuesday, the Grammy-earning rapper addressed her detractors by posting a lengthy Instagram statement, which she captioned, “All I can do now is be a better me for myself my family and my future.“

“I never claim to be perfect or come from a perfect world with a perfect past. I always speak my truth,” Cardi began her statement.

She continued, “I never glorified the things I brought up in that [Instagram Live story]. I never even put those things in my music because I’m not proud of it and feel a responsibility not to glorify it.”

“I made the choices that I did at the time because I had very limited options,” Cardi added. “I was blessed to have been able to rise from that but so many women have not. Whether or not they were poor choices at the time I did what I had to do to survive.”
