A$AP Rocky Has Dropped His First Music Video Since Leaving Swedish Jail
A$AP Rocky has released his first new music since leaving a Swedish jail.
“Babushka Boi” is a track that the Harlem MC had premiered in concert earlier this year on his Injured Generation tour. It features reversed vocals which, played forwards, say, “The world is yours, Scarface” — both in reference to the Al Pacino movie of the same name and the actual scars on Rocky’s face.
The hook features Rocky chanting, “I would like to dedicate to the scar on my face/All the stars of the globe, the world is yours, Scarface.”
The song comes with a visual, filmed prior to A$AP’s ill-fated trip to Sweden. A$AP and his crew — including ScHoolboy Q, A$AP Ferg, A$AP Nast, and Kamil Abbas — play a pack of cartoonish villains, who all seem to have stepped off the set of the 1990 movie Dick Tracy.
Rocky, playing a villain called Babushka Boi, sports his trademark headscarf and additional fake scars on his face. The villains rob a bank and face off against pig-faced cops, eventually killing them and turning them into sausage.
Speaking of sausage, Rocky was also spotted partying in New York’s Meatpacking district Monday night after the MTV Video Music Awards, according to Page Six.
